For over a year now, I’ve been developing with Villa Albertine, Goethe-Institut Boston and Non-Event the cultural project Power(s) of Water which is taking place i from September 27 to November 8 2024 in Boston, MA in several places, within the Elysee French-German program. On November 2, I’ll present several films programs and activities at the Museum of Science: a children video program followed by a workshop, and an adult program which will take place at the Mugar OMNI theater. With films of Harun Farocki, Patrick Bokanowski, Linnéa Haviland, Albert Merino, Faith Johnson, Giulia Grossman, Dorothée Billard, Florence Cha Cayron, Sue Murad, Sam Fields, Sabrina Ratté, Ute Aurand, Lana Z Caplan, Laura Rius Aran and myself.

24.10-14.11.2024Passage Hapax, Paris, presented during ISSS Surréalismes Paris 2024 at The American University of Paris
My image book Passage Hapax, Paris (Studio Walter, 2023) will be presented both as exhibition and in a short paper during the conference of International Society for the Study of Surrealism (ISSS) co-organized by DFK Paris at the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the manifest of Surrealism. The exhibition will be presented at the AUP Art Gallery at the Combes Center (6 rue du Colonel Combes, 75007 Paris) from October 24 to November 14, and I’ll present my paper on Wednesday October 30 at 11:30 at the Center for the Arts Monttessuy (9 bis rue de Monttessuy, 75007 Paris).

Within the CURA programme of the French Ministry of Culture, I’m presenting this season a cycle of 8 experimental films and video art programmes for children and their families. My first programme will take place for schools and general audiences on October 18th and 19th with films on comics and animated images, with artworks of Detel Aurand, Ute Aurand, Lenka Clayton, Jacques Julien, Laura Ginès, Camille Goujon, Marin Martinie, Norman McLaren, Benjamin Popp and Frédérique Rusch.

An exhibition of books found in the street, revealing the psyche of the city of Berlin during the Covid-19 pandemic, accompanied by a series of lectures on bibliophilia. 2023-2024Die Ausstellung Les Immatériaux: Interdisziplinarität, Epistemologie, kuratorische Subjekte, Institut für Philosophie und Kunstwissenschaft, Leuphana-Universität, Lüneburg
I’ve been appointed for an academic year as research assistant on the DFG project Die Ausstellung Les Immatériaux: Interdisziplinarität, Epistemologie, kuratorische Subjekte, a research project on the exhibition Les Immatériaux which took place at Centre Pompidou in 1985. I’m assisting the art historian and curator Dr. Andreas Broeckmann with the the end of his research, and the organization of its digital archive.

To coincide with the Streetfinds exhibition at CEAAC which is based on a collection of books found on the streets of Berlin during the pandemic, this lecture is part of a series of three lectures on the aesthetics of books and the relationship between books and affects. Drawing on the thinking of the philosopher Bernard Stiegler, this first talk looks at the amatorat, going back to its fundamentals: a relationship to love and a relationship to work, and the creation of knowledge, particularly in bibliophilia. The program contains films of Yuri Muraoka, Damien Tran, Walter Duncan & Marie-Pierre Bonniol, Harvard Natural Sciences Lecture Demonstrations, Carlos Vásquez, Jef Scher, Jonathan Hodgson, Six Drummers, Kijek/Adamski and will be screened March 4th and 5th, April 8th and 9th and May 27th and 28th. The films are for everyone from the age of 3! With contributions from Marion Orel and Gloria Vilches.

The secret of the Milky Moonfrocks, exhibition and retrospective of Guy Maddin, The Film Gallery, Cinéma L’Archipel, Paris, France
Just before the start of pandemy, I’ve had a handshake with Guy Maddin, probably my last one for months, in front of the German Spy Museum Postdamer Platz in Berlin. One year and a half after, the first European exhibition of collages of Guy Maddin is taking place at The Film Gallery in Paris, with a retrospective of his film at Cinéma L’Archipel, both in his presence. I’ve curated and produced this exhibition, with a wonderful group of people.

Since 2006, the Joseph Rovan Prize is awarded every year by the French ambassador in Germany to projects that have distinguished themselves in the civil society dialogue between France and Germany.
