Georges Adéagbo / Art is a mirror

Until the 1st of August, the work of Georges Adéagbo is exhibited at Barbara Wien galerie in Berlin. His installations, that I’ve discovered at the Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst Leipzig last year, move me deeply every time I get in interaction with it. Collecting and assembling artifacts from both Western and African cultures, press clips as fetiches, images, books and paintings with texts, not far from evangelization’s designs, his practice and art of assemblage traces a powerful and soulful South/North, back, reversed and forth groove which tells a lot, to me, about cultural flows through locally grounded beliefs. A video on his work and the exhibition has just been released by the galery, also showing how he works. Nice!
